When does the Echoes of Heritage BOM officially start?
Your 12-month journey begins the moment you enroll! Because this is our special Q2 intake, you will get immediate access to the welcome materials and the beautiful first modules we have already released. Once you dive into those, a brand new module will be unlocked for you on the 1st of every month moving forward.
I see the BOM started in January. Am I too far behind to join now?
Absolutely not! There is no such thing as being "behind" in our community. That is exactly why I opened this special Q2 intake. While our first wave of quilters began in January, your personal 12-month membership begins the day you enroll. You are stepping in at the perfect time to build your body of creative work.
How do I catch up with the patterns that have already been released?
The beauty of this program is that you are in complete control of your pace.
When you join today, you will immediately unlock the welcome packet and the teaching videos for January, February, and March.
You can choose to have a fun, binge-sewing weekend to do a few blocks at once, or simply take a deep breath and work through them slowly. There is no rush, and the materials will be there whenever you are ready.

How do I access my monthly patterns and videos?
You will access everything through a dedicated, password-protected membership portal on the Quilt Africa website.
What is the difference between the Annual and Quarterly plans?
The Annual Plan ($165) gives you access to all 12 modules for a significant discount (saving you one month's tuition) and includes the Quick-Action Bonus.
The Quarterly Plan ($45) charges you every three months and also includes the Quick-Action Bonus.
The Monthly Plan ($15) is pay-as-you-go but does not include the bonus.
What if I fall behind?
No problem! Once you sign up, you have access to the pattern and video lessons for as long as your membership is active. This is a journey, not a race. You can work at your own pace.
What is the finished size of the Echoes of Heritage quilt?
The final quilt finishes at approximately 36" x 48"— a perfect throw size to display the stunning African-rooted designs in your modern home. (With more blocks, sashing and borders you can make it bigger if you like).
What is the recommended skill level for this BOM?
This BOM is designed for Confident Beginners and up. If you have basic rotary cutting, sewing, and pressing skills, you are ready! We use fusible appliqué, which is a beginner-friendly technique, and the included video tutorials offer clear, step-by-step guidance.
What materials do I need to participate?
You will need basic sewing supplies (sewing machine, thread, scissors, rotary cutter, ruler, etc.), as well as background fabric, appliqué fabrics, fusible web, and batting/backing to finish. The monthly plan covers the digital pattern and video instruction, but fabric is sold separately in our online shop.
What is included in the monthly delivery?
Every month, you receive a downloadable PDF pattern, and a session by Miriam explaining the profound cultural history behind the month's appliqué design.
Is this machine appliqué or hand appliqué?
We focus primarily on machine appliqué using fusible web for the clean, modern look of the silhouettes. Instructions for finishing the edges using your machine are included in the masterclass.
